PIUS and Marsh to present “Raising Capital through Insurance” alongside industry partners
PIUS, in partnership with Marsh, the world’s largest insurance broker and risk advisor, and the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), will present a free webinar on how venture capitalists can lower the cost of capital for their portfolio companies by utilizing insurance. The webinar, “Raising Capital through Insurance,” will focus on how VCs can draw on high-growth technology companies’ intellectual property by securing insurance to obtain debt capital without dilution, at significantly lower rates than venture debt.
Moderated by Marsh, the panel will feature speakers from each aspect of the funding through insurance process:
- Drew Lanza, founding partner, Berkeley Catalyst Fund
- Mihir Shah, founder and CEO, StorCentric
- Amelia Erickson, director, PIUS
The discussion will be directed to operating partners and CFOs of venture capital funds and will include real-world examples of how this innovative insurance solution has facilitated attractive debt financing for VC-backed companies.
PIUS Limited, LLC, offers a proprietary insurance product for growing technology companies, which utilizes a company’s intellectual property (IP) as collateral. By insuring the loan based on its evaluation of a company’s IP, PIUS helps facilitate greater loan amounts at better rates, while transferring the risk from the lender to the insurer. PIUS is a managing general agent (MGA) and provides more complete coverage than other policies through its residual value insurance program. For more information, visit https://piusre.com.
